Clinical Protocol Expert Panel Members:
Clinical Protocol Workgroup Members:
Description: A state-level working committee charged with the specific tasks to organize, develop, and recommend integrated and uniform clinical process and procedures in keeping with the LITS program model. The Committee recommends an overall, standardized program framework, policies, and procedures for the flow of clients thru the service delivery process from intake thru discharge.
Goals: This includes the process of integrated screening/assessment, triage, joint staffing, integrated treatment planning, integrated service delivery, and discharge planning, and related procedures. Specific areas of focus may include the criteria for client inclusion in the COSIG program (i.e., which clients will be considered a “case,” based on degree of mental/addictive disorder, and how will disposition be determined and managed); how and when screening and assessment and other critical clinical procedures will be integrated into existing service delivery processes, how the existing processes may be re-engineered to meet the needs of integrated service delivery, and who is to perform these important clinical tasks. The process and procedures determined will be in keeping with state licensing and national accreditation standards and standards for electronic service records. A major function of the Committee is to organize uniform processes and procedures across regions/districts to promote quality program implementation and operation and to contribute to standardized information management and program evaluation procedures. The Committee works in close coordination with the other standing COSIG Committees to organize and recommend an integrated service delivery process. The Committee operates thru assigned sub-committees and/or workgroups with specific tasks, including Screening and Assessment, Treatment Planning, Service Provision, and Discharge.
